Randomness

There really isn't a complete thought in my head at this moment and this post really kind of goes in that same direction :) Here are some pics from my phone this week.

Bath time is a good time at our house. Both of the kids LOVE their bath and mommy loves the way they smell afterwards. All cozy and warm and fleece jammies, sounds pretty amazing to me! She is so sweet and gentle....

He is so....loud and well boyish....fyi chocolate cookies not cavities :)

John and I are working on something really big for our family. I'll be able to talk about it more before long but for now keep your fingers crossed for us that we can be brave and not kill each other in the process!

Last weekend we enjoyed a date night/employee Christmas party for John's business. We had a great time. I really enjoy alone time with my man. I know...I know...the mirror desperately needs cleaned!

Jag has done this since he was little, the good thing is that now he will actually eat the olives after he whalers all over them.

Snow days are perfect for making cookies!!! I'll share this recipe with you soon, it is SO good!

We FINALLY have some gifts wrapped and under the tree. I still have shopping to do!!! When am I going to finish shopping you ask??? I don't know!!! HELP!

I hope everyone is enjoying the hustle and bustle this week and getting to slow down long enough to actually enjoy your families! I will talk to you soon!

Snow Day

Today is a snow day! We received snow over night last night and then had crazy winds this morning. We live on a hill down a gravel road therefore the drifts at our house are ALWAYS huge, this morning was no exception. Our sitter had no power therefore we stayed home today.

So....I have sooooo much to do and feel like I am getting nothing accomplished. I have gifts that need to be purchased, but I can't drive. I have gifts that need to be wrapped, but have little eyes following me everywhere I go. I have so much food to prepare for the for upcoming Christmas' but can't get to the store.

As I sit here and complain I can't help but feel so guilty. I have a warm beautiful home. I have a loving, supportive, hard working husband and I have two beautiful healthy children. There are so many people in the world that go without. People that go without shoes, food, water, homes or love. Not to mention the horrible tragedy of last week that leaves so many families mourning and devastated.

I don't really know what I am doing as a parent. We all just have to figure it out as we go. One thing that has been very pressing on my heart lately is to teach my children about Jesus. I want them to know that there is someone always with them. I want my son to know that before bed we pray. That we thank God everyday for the blessings that we receive and that we pray for everyone else. We thank God for getting to spend time with our cousins or getting to make cookies with mommy because those things are so special. We pray that God will keep his arms around baby Maverick and keep him healthy and we pray that God continues to bless grandpa and keep him well.

Life is hard. The older you get the more you become aware of the harsh things in life. I don't like that stuff. I would much rather shut my door and only focus on the happiness in our home but that's not real life. I take time today to pray for everyone that is wanting or is mourning. Everyone that could use a little extra love this time of year.

Please pray today for those that are less fortunate than we are. Please pray for our fellow man and that love will fill the air this holiday season and Jesus will be remembered as the reason for this season.

I've Been Away...

Sorry I haven't been blogging as regularly as usual. There is allot to do this time of year. Our house is decorated and I have cookies and candy made. I still have lots of shopping to get done but we are getting there. Most importantly we are getting ready to welcome this sweet boy home on Sunday.

On December 1st my sister had her first child, Maverick Lee.

Maverick was a little early and needed some more time to grow and get strong.

This little man and his parents will finally get to come home from Children's Mercy on Sunday December 16th.

I can not wait to get to squeeze this boy so tightly and just stare at him. I am more than impressed and proud of my sister and her fiance as to how they have handled this situation and allowed it to draw them closer together. You have both been an inspiration to all of us and you already have shown what amazing parents you are.

I love you all and am so excited to see who Maverick grows up to be. FYI...the name Maverick means "wildly independent", you better hold onto your hats!!!!

Maverick your cousins can not wait to get their hands on you!!! Hurry home!!! Here's to the best Christmas ever!!!!

Super Hero Birthday Party

My cousin's son recently celebrated his 8th birthday. His birthday theme was super hero.

My mom made Jagger and Johnie capes for the party . Jagger was something similar to super man. Johnie's cape was made of Hello Kitty material so she was some type of Super Hero Kitty.

Happy Birthday Camden! I hope 8 is AWESOME!!!!
