This is how we began the day. Jag was never scared, the surgery center where the procedure was done was really AMAZING! They have this down pat! I was VERY impressed with the whole process. For Jag to never get scared or feel nervous was great. He never had to wonder what was going to happen they were very honest about everything and gave him plenty of time to get adjusted and process. They never just threw something new at him they would explain what they were going to do next and he was fine with it.
This was Jag showing the nurse how he could blow up his new red balloon. This balloon as you can see in the pic was attached to the mouth piece which is like what he would have to take deep breaths of later that morning to take the anesthesia. It was a great concept and really worked.
Here he is all ready to go back. I finally got the rubber boots off of him :). He was saving that gum for after, he couldn't have anything to eat or drink since midnight the night before. He did so good with the gum he just held on to it the whole time.
This is the after face :(. He was still pretty groggy here. He was admitted to a room in the pediatric unit because of his age after surgery so they could monitor him. By far the worst thing of the whole experience was the IV.
This is the next morning. I tried to coax his with pancakes. He didn't really fall for it. He hasn't ate much at all but he is drinking. He has been amazing. I am so proud of him. Don't get me wrong we have had some rough moments but all in all he has been a tough little guy.
So...probably another week of healing and getting back to normal. I am so glad this is behind us!!! Tell me...anything interesting for you this week???
