DIY ~tissue paper pom poms~

I have been seeing these little pretties all over the Internet so I decided to take my shot at them.

Supplies:
Tissue Paper
Stapler or Ribbon
Scissors

Take 5-10 sheets of tissue paper and fold accordion style, 1 inch folds work the best

Staple or tie a piece of ribbon around the center to hold

Round each end with scissors

Pull the pieces apart, the best way to describe it is to pull them away from the center. The more I did this the better I got at it. It takes a few practice runs.

My first finished products.

I am making these pom poms for decorations at Johnie's birthday.

As cheap and fast as they are to make I figure I can have several hanging from the ceiling for a big effect at a small price. Notice the the surprised little boy in the bottom right hand corner. His words were "mom you are awesome"....oh yea...that's me!

This is a BIG one.

And lots more. Do you remember on the Wizard of Oz when the guy says "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"???? Well let me say "pay no attention to the collection of random items on the counter top!"

The yellow ones turned out the best #1 I had practiced several times before those and #2 they were smaller. Do you like??? Try your hand at it, let me know what you think!

Master Bedroom

So at one of our recent Cabela's excursions John approached me with the puppy dog eyes, you know the ones that make you feel like you are dealing with a 12 year old. You know the ones that if you said no to it would pretty much be equivalent to kicking him on his birthday or ruining his favorite ice cream cone. OK...so I am going a little over board there but honestly not too much...the puppy dog eyes said "can I" and I had a moment of weakness and gave in. So here you go everyone, he's your introduction to my camouflage master bedroom....typing that out was rough!

All kidding aside this would never be my first choice but it turned out to be not that bad. My bible study has been about being submissive to your husband lately and this was hard for me however I am glad that John has a manly space to relax.

These pics aren't that great, I didn't realize that until I began this post with phone pics, but you get the gist. It's fall, hunting season is beginning and that will consume us until Christmas so it only fits. Happy hunting everyone!!!

Outdoors

John and I are very blessed to own an amazingly beautiful section of this beautiful earth that God created. This weekend we were able to get out and enjoy some of our land, just the two of us. Here are some pics from our walk and 4 wheeler ride.

There is the most peaceful little creek that runs through the back of our property.

Cruising a gravel road behind our house.

I love his hat on backwards :)

On our way back home.

When is the last time you spent some time enjoying nature?
