DIY

I got this idea from this post on Beautifully Rooted. Here is my version.

I tend to use materials that I have laying around the house. For this specific project I would have rather had a prettier piece of wood but since my husband is in consturction 2x4's are what I have access to so that is what I used.

Here's what you need

Wood
Sticks
Paint
Glue

Pretty basic....

You can paint the wood whatever color you like and put any word you wish on the wood. I used my last name.

Nothing crazy but very easy and a fun personalized decoration

Had to Share

My awesome babysitter sent me these pics today while I was at work and I had to share...

Thanks Nicki for taking such great care of my babies...you are MUCH appreciated!

Playroom

Here are some pics of our playroom. This room was not included in the house tour because it was too messy at the time...imagine that! This is the room that the kids and I spend the most time in.

These curtains over the sliding glass door are actually shower curtains that I found at TJ Maxx. They were too short for the doors so my mom added pieces of an old sheet to add length...thanks mom!

This is an old butcher block table that my parents gave me. I LOVE this piece it has been in several rooms but as of now this is it's home.

I made this book shelf out of an old door. It is the perfect height for Jag to sit and read.

You can't see this shelf very well but it is an old Hostess advertisment with Mickey Mouse on it that I got at a garage sale for $10! Score!

I made this quite a while ago but I still love it. In case you can't see these are profile pics of our family. The words read (John's pic) plus (my pic) equals (Jag's pic) and (Johnie's pic).

I made this collage after a friend took some family pics for us earlier this year. Nothing special but I love it.

Jagger's first painting!

This is our countdown to vacation...only 18 days to go!!!

Picture wall...I love me some pics!

Johnie's section of the room.

Jagger's art displayed.

I made this table for Jagger last weekend...it didn't turn out as great as I wanted it to...but it serves it's purpose.

So there you have it, our playroom. Hope you enjoyed.

ENT Doc

Jag and I spent some quality time at the ENT doctor on Thursday. He had a 6 month check up on his ear tubes and we also checked out his tonsils. The doctor said that his tonsils are a 3 on a scale of 1-4 so we are considering having them taken out.

We were at this appointment for 2 hours so I had to pull out all the tricks to keep him entertained. We sang every nursery rhythm we could think of.

Once he figured how to work the chair he was pretty proud of himself!
We are still deciding wheather or not we are going to have his tonsils out....what's your opinion? Do you have any experience with tonsils??? Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

4th of July Mantle

Sunday afernoon I worked on updating our fireplace mantle for the upcomig holiday. Here's a peek...

I made the pinwheels using the Lisa Leonard tutorial

I made this wreath based on something I saw online. The flowers are SUPER easy!!!! I will definatly be making more.

I have a banner that hangs on this picuture all the time. To make it festive without altering the banner I just added triangles for scrapbook paper and attached them with small clothes pins. This way I can easily take them down or change them out at any time.

So here's the finished project...what do you think???

The Park

A few days ago on our way home from work /daycare we decided to randomly stop at the park. Jag had a blast!!! My sister and her puppy “Ceaser” went with us as well. Here are some pics from the park. I must say Miss Johnie girl enjoyed herself also!!!

This sweet little park is not too far from our house. It is very small but we were the only ones there which was very nice. The ground is rubber-ish which eases a mammas worry also.

Jag was not too impressed when we had to leave but he did okay. His fit didn’t last too long J He’s 2…oh my is he 2!

Turkey Season

John started a tradition 3 years ago of taking a picture with Jagger each year with his spring turkey. So as of last month we now have 3 pictures on the wall.
In the 1st pic jag is 6 months old

18 months old

This pic was taken this year….daddy and Jag. Jagger is 2 ½

I look forward to the turkey wall that shows Jagger growing up. I just wish it would slow down a little…he changes so much every year!
Now we need a tradition with little Johnie girl…..any ideas? Leave me a comment
