Christmas Party #1

Last weekend John and I attended our 1st Christmas Party of the season. This party was for the bible study group that I belong too. The women in this group are so very special to me. I rely on them for allot. I had a great time getting to know the other half of the women I hold so close to my heart.

Our bible study leader Miss Katie is a WONDERFUL party planner. She had some fun games ready for us. I am pretty shy so I was very intimidated by the games she had planned however they turned out to be so much fun.

For the first game you and your partner had to get a Christmas ornament to hang on a string without using your hands.

.

For the second game you had one minute to stack as many cups as you could with your partner.

John and I's turn....very serious...

Building....

Building....

Uh oh!!! Totally my fault!

Rebuilding...

Building....

For the third game you had to put a treat on your forehead and get it into your mouth without using your hands.

The games were a blast and the time spent with good friends was wonderful. Thank you Katie for organizing a great Christmas party and for all that you do as our leader. You are truly a gift!

Candies

I made a few candies already this year that I wanted to share.

I took the easy route for chocolate covered pretzels. Instead of dipping each piece, I covered the bottom of a cookie sheet.

I melted almond bark

And drizzled it over the pretzels

I added some M&M's for color. You could add anything really or nothing at all.

You just break the candy up into bit size pieces.

This version was SO much faster however not as pretty, still the same awesome taste however!

The second thing I made was a recipe I had heard about from a friend. I think that the original recipe came from Trisha Yearwood :) I didn't have the official recipe so I just kind of winged it!

Line a pan with saltine crackers salt tops down

I melted almond bark and chunky peanut butter

Spread the mix over the crackers and let it sit up

Cut and remove

Yummy!!!

Our Thanksgiving

I never posted on our Thanksgiving but we had a full day of family and LOTS of food. Here are some snapshots of our day. I think that the best thing about Thanksgiving is that you have the excitement and the anticipation of getting the whole family together without the pressure of buying gifts.

John and I are both so Thankful for all that we have. We are VERY blessed and do not take spend even one day taking our life for granted.

My plate :) well my first one anyways!

Oh This Baby Boy!!!

My sister had her baby on Friday!!! Maverick Lee is a beautiful 7lb 3oz, 21in long stud. This sweet baby is working very hard to get ready to come home with his loving family. Babies are gifts from God. Maverick, you have big things ahead of you I just know it. I can't wait to get to cuddle for hours with you. Be strong sweet boy.

Maverick's doggie can't wait to meet him!
